Agendas
I check agendas each day. This is a great place to write notes to me if needed. The agenda is where you will find daily homework, notes from me or the school, and your child’s daily behavior. The agendas are available for purchase from our PTO for $6.00. The agenda goes home daily and needs to come back EVERY DAY. Also, on Friday you will find a red Teachers...Parents Communicator. Please check your child’s book bag for this every Friday and return the folder back on Monday.
Homework
READ EACH NIGHT with your child.
Your child will begin bringing a book home from me very soon. After your child’s reading level is assessed, the book brought home will be on or slightly above your child’s reading comprehension level. Your child may read the entire book to you, you may take turns reading pages, or you may read the book to your child if you have a busy night. After reading, write the title of the book and your signature in your child’s agenda. This will serve as your child’s reading log for the year. This is the best way to teach your child that reading is important. Research shows that children that are read to learn to read faster and easier.
Math Homework Sheet
It will come home on Monday and should be returned on Friday. It is a good way to keep math skills fresh and continue to practice concepts throughout the year.
Reading Response Sheet
Your child will have reading response questions to answer about a book read that week. I will send further information about this later on in the school year.
